PARISH ACTIVITIES

Feastday Celebration. The Parish of St. Benedict, Don Antonio Heights, Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City celebrated the Feast Day of St. Benedict of Nursia on July 11, 2010.  Seen in this photo is Fr Steve Tynan, mgl (right), parish priest; Fr. Brian Steele, mgl (left), assistant parish priest, and Fr. Gerry Tapiador (center), Vicar General for Administration of the Diocese of Novaliches, who concelebrated the 10:00 a.m. fiesta mass where the Sacrament of Confirmation was also received by many parishioners. After the mass, the youth of the neighboring parish, Jesus of Nazareth, played live music to the obvious delight of the massgoers.

The Ladies Who Lunched.  The traditional fiesta atmosphere is maintained in the Parish of St. Benedict thanks to tireless volunteers as seen in this photo who make sure that the parishioners and guests are well-fed with delicious Filipino food. This simple celebration reflects just how much the parish has grown into a family.  Aside from parishioners from the sub-parishes of Nuestra Señora de Salvacion, Our Lady of Remedies, and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, nuns from the resident religious orders of the parish were all present: the Capuchin, Spinola, Escolapia, and Missionaries of the Sacred Heart sisters.

Dolphins Love Freedom. Youth Alive, a ministry of the Missionaries of God’s Love (MGL) based in the Parish of St. Benedict, joined the MGL, artist AG Saño, and his team of volunteers in painting a dolphin mural incorporating Australian aboriginal art last September 19, 2010. Through this activity, the youth learned to love God’s Creation represented by the dolphins, the ocean, and the humpback whale that found their home on one of the walls within the parish grounds. Playing with colors and paintbrushes and snacking on pizza and ice cream, everyone enjoyed this creative activity on a productive Sunday afternoon.

Message from the Parish Priest

AUGUST 27, 2007
We are celebrating today the first birthday of our community, the Parish of St Benedict. I have been gratified by the way we have gone about the process of beginning to develop a new community by amalgamating four pre-existing sub-parishes.  ~ more ~
